The tool this covers

Stone Age Fireside uses a private application, built and operated internally, solely to manage the YouTube channel it owns. Nobody else can sign up or use it. It was granted access through Google sign-in on exactly one account: the account that owns our channel. Because it works through YouTube API Services, it is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

What it is allowed to reach

  • Our own videos: uploading new ones and editing their titles, descriptions, thumbnails and playlists.
  • The settings of our channel, which it may adjust.
  • Viewer comments posted on our videos, which lets us answer people and delete spam.
  • YouTube Analytics reports about our channel, for example views, watch time, audience retention and subscriber gains or losses. These are totals and cannot be used to identify any viewer.

Why it reaches them

To publish films, keep the channel tidy, and read the reports to help choose which Stone Age topics to cover next.

Sharing and selling

We do neither. Data obtained from Google APIs is never sold, licensed or passed to any third party, and we never use it for ads or for profiling. We follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Storage and deletion

We keep the access tokens, the analytics figures and the stored comments on a server used by nobody but us. They are retained only for as long as we keep using the application, and they are erased as soon as its access is revoked.

Withdrawing access

Open myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove the application. Once that is done, the tool loses all ability to view or modify anything.

Visiting this website

This site does not track you. It has no accounts, no forms, no advertising, no tracking cookies and no visitor analytics. Standard connection information, your IP address for instance, might be logged by our hosting provider's network so that pages can be served and protected.

Whenever we revise this policy, we will publish the revised text on this page and change the date shown at its top.
